If your rabbit will be living outdoors, make sure that your hutch is raised off the ground to keep your bunnies off the floor and away from wind so they do not get sick. You also need to reflect on who will be cleaning the hutch, if you are going to be looking after it do you really want to be sitting on the floor to do it. Your hutch can consist of two floors. Make certain that you buy a hutch that is big enough for the rabbit you have.
When you get a big hutch it means you can always get an extra rabbit later on and not have to worry about getting a new hutch. Kids love to have more than one rabbit so it can actually save you money in the long term if you plan ahead. Rabbits are easy to care for and they are a good way for children to learn responsibilty.
You can also keep a hutch in a garage or an outdoor shed if you do not want your rabbits to be housed outside. Rabbits are reasonably adaptable pets and will live happily wherever you put their rabbit hutch.

It was slightly damaged when I took it out of the box. My rabbit chewed the wood inside and he was bleeding from his nail. Im assuming he got stuck with a splinter. Also I would have liked to know how easy it is to clean

I am not tallented at putting things together but was able to with ease. all the screws were labeled and attached to a piece of cardboard. it comes with a ladder for two or more on top of eachother. unfortunaltely, the unit came somewhat damaged with a small part split in half. I was able to screw it together with the extra screws. The error looks like it happened in manufacturing rather than shipping. The fumes from this product were a little overwhelming when I first openned this product. The rabbit has already chewed the stairs and edge of the floor. i hope it is not toxic. I assume not if it is made for rabbits.
